Radical Reward Charts!

A little while ago the lovely people over at Radical Reward Charts sent my kids a couple of reward charts to test out. If you missed my post about it you can catch up here.

Well we've been using them! Tom is already at Number 10 (half way) and has been rewarded with a small toy he wanted (a £2 My Little Pony blind bag from the supermarket). Jack is just a couple of places away but so determined to catch up with his little brother. They both know they are going to get a special reward for getting to No. 20! Jack is working on getting a new game for his DS and Tom wants one for his Leappad.

The big question is whether or not the reward charts work though, right?

Jack, only 2 moves away from his
Half Way Reward
And I say that they do!

Aside from being SO excited when they came in the post and having their own photos on them to move up the chart (and the fact that I now HAVE to sing "do-be-do-be-doooo!" as they move up a space) they do spend ages looking at the pictures on them and asking what different things are. Sometimes I know, sometime we have to get on to Google and looks things up! But it's all good.

The really interesting thing though is the change in their behaviour. They really are making an effort to behave in a way that pleases me in the hope that I might reward them with the chart - they don't get moved up for just anything. This is no small feat for them during the summer holidays!

And for comparison, the Daddy has not been using the chart and when it's been just him and the boys they have not improved their behaviour for him (I think he was glad to go back to work to be honest).

Personally I think that proves that in our family using the reward chart properly gives good results.

What's the cost?

Each chart cost £14 which does seem like a lot to start with. But they are a lovely quality, and the price includes the postage if you don't mind them coming folded up in an envelope (you can pay a little extra for a tube if you prefer, but ours were folded and are perfectly good) and most importantly  IT INCLUDES THE PICTURE MARKER of your child. My kids think this is awesome, they love seeing them selves move up the chart.

The charts are also reusable since you're not drawing, writing or sticking anything on to them other than a bit of blu-tac - which does not damage the lovely glossy finish of the chart.

And they are BIG! It's not some tiny A4 thing. You get what you pay for!

Kids rating: 4/5

(they'd like to move up faster than I let them)

Where can I get my hands on a Radical Reward Chart for my Little Darling?

Disclaimer: I have been asked to write a review by Radical Reward Charts. They have given me two sample charts for free so that we may try them out for the purpose of the review. I am not being paid.  All opinions are my own (and those of my children)
